Parent Workshop: Brain Building Activities You Can Do at Home
Friday, March 29, 2019 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Would you like to know what it takes to develop your child’s brain! Join us at this Family Engagement Program event and learn what activities you can do with your children during daily routines that promote brain development and are completely free to do!
Pathways LA will provide a hands-on, interactive workshop sharing different VROOM Brain Building Activities parents can do with their children at home for free. Parents will participate in various activities before a discussion on the science or, “Brainy Background” as we like to call it, behind each activity as well as what skills their children are learning from each activity. Parents will also be able to do a Make and Take Brain Building Activity of their choice they’ll be able to try at home. I will also be giving out VROOM tip cards, App cards, and giveaways
FREE Child Care will be provided, light dinner will be served, and we will have a raffle prize. Parking validation for guests who need it will also be provided. Family Engagement Program events are free to attend but spaces are limited. For more information or to reserve your spot, contact Teri Morales at 213.427.2709 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
VROOM was developed by the Bezos Family Foundation. Its purpose is to encourage and empower parents to turn every day moments into brain building moments. VROOM wants parents to know that they have what it takes to be the brain builders for their children through simple, accessible, and actionable tips that encourage back and forth interaction between parents and children. Whether it’s meal time, bath time, or anytime in between, there are always ways to nurture children’s growing minds. VROOM focuses its activities on ages 0-5 because research shows children develop the foundation for all future learning in the first 5 years.
