Celebrate the dedication of FCCHEN providers

An Evening of Gratitude

Pathways LA recently hosted a special event to honor and celebrate our dedicated Family Child Care Home Education Network (FCCHEN) providers. This esteemed group of licensed family child care providers offers subsidized child care for eligible families, making a significant impact on our community. To show our appreciation, we hosted a celebratory dinner at the stunning Perch in Los Angeles. The evening was filled with gratitude, recognition, and joy as we celebrated the hard work and dedication of our FCCHEN providers.

The Importance of Early Childhood Education

Early childhood education plays a crucial role in the development of children, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Pathways LA has been a leading Resource and Referral childcare agency in Metro Los Angeles for 45 years. Driven by data and innovation, our experts support the continuum of care that includes parents, childcare providers, community partners, and policymakers. We are dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality childcare for eligible families, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Philosophy on Early Childhood Education

Pathways LA views itself as a partner with parents in meeting the developmental needs of their children. To provide children with an environment that is responsive, unique, and individual to their needs, we believe it is critical to build a bridge between school and home. Teachers base their work on their knowledge of each child’s age and developmental level, individual needs and interests, and the family’s social and cultural background. We understand the importance of play in the lives of young children and therefore embrace a play-based curriculum. The curriculum builds upon the interests of children as they emerge. Teachers provide developmentally appropriate activities and materials that support children’s social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.

The Role of FCCHEN Providers in Early Childhood Education

Our FCCHEN providers are integral to our mission. They deliver personalized, high-quality care that adapts to the needs of each child. By fostering a nurturing and educational environment, they help children develop healthy self-esteem, acquire positive communication skills, learn how to solve problems, and gain an appreciation for diversity. Their commitment to early childhood education ensures that children are well-prepared for future academic and social success.

Supporting Our FCCHEN Providers

As we continue to support and expand our Family Child Care Home Education Network, we remain committed to recognizing and celebrating the outstanding contributions of our providers. Events like our recent celebratory dinner not only highlight their hard work but also reinforce our gratitude for their dedication. We look forward to many more opportunities to honor our FCCHEN providers and showcase the positive impact they have on our community.

Why Early Childhood Education Matters

The early care and education program at Pathways LA is based on children’s growth and developmental needs. To supplement the care provided within their family structure, our staff designs curriculum experiences that foster growth and extend the children’s home learning. Our play-based curriculum focuses on the individual needs of each child, providing a diverse environment that offers real-world experiences. These experiences teach compassion, patience, and acceptance of others, laying a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Access to High-Quality Child Care

At Pathways LA, we serve children from ages six weeks to five years, operating year-round with closures for holidays and professional development days. We maintain low adult-to-child ratios to ensure personalized attention and care:

– Infants: 1 adult per 3 children

– Toddlers: 1 adult per 4 children

– Preschool: 1 adult per 8 children

Families may qualify for payment assistance. Our Resource and Referral specialists work with families to determine eligibility, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality early childhood education.
