Pathways LA is thrilled to announce the appointment of two distinguished professionals to its leadership team, marking an exciting new chapter in the organization’s efforts to serve families and child care providers throughout Los Angeles County. Shannon Huston has been named Director of Family and Child Care Provider Services, while Rosanne Munoz joins as Director of Finance. Both bring extensive experience and a shared commitment to enhancing the lives of families in our community.
Shannon Huston: Director of Family and Child Care Provider Services
With more than 21 years of experience in education, Shannon Huston brings a deep understanding of child development and family engagement to her new role at Pathways LA. She holds a Master of Education from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. Shannon’s qualifications also include certifications in Multiple Subject Teaching, a Child Development Director’s Permit, and a Career and Technical Teaching Credential. She previously served as the Early Learning Director for the Manhattan Beach Unified School District, where she oversaw the District’s preschool, extended day, and Transitional Kindergarten programs. Under her leadership, the Extended Day Program (EDP) revenue increased by 101%. One of her notable achievements was ensuring that children with special needs were successfully integrated into the extended day program, fostering an inclusive environment that met the diverse needs of all students. Shannon’s tenure in education also includes work with Head Start, where she was responsible for monitoring preschool curriculum and leading family engagement efforts.
At Pathways LA, Shannon will continue her focus on supporting parents and child care providers, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring that families have access to high-quality early learning opportunities. Her dedication to child development and community support aligns perfectly with the mission of Pathways LA.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys traveling, reading, and personal development, always seeking to broaden her knowledge and experiences.
Rosanne Munoz: Director of Finance
Rosanne Munoz, the new Director of Finance, joins Pathways LA with a rich background in nonprofit accounting, having worked across various financial sectors, including Federally Qualified Health Centers, Affordable Housing, and International Catastrophe Response Services. With more than a decade of experience, Rosanne’s expertise will be invaluable in ensuring that Pathways LA’s financial resources are efficiently managed to support the organization’s growing programs.
Her journey in finance began in the Philippines, where she qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the Philippine School of Business Administration and an MBA from California International University. Rosanne is also an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Philippine American Society of Certified Public Accountants (PASCPA), and the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles (FACCGLA).
Beyond her professional pursuits, Rosanne is an avid nature enthusiast who enjoys hiking and exploring the great outdoors. Her passion for nature is a testament to her belief in balance and well-being, which she also applies to her professional life, showcasing how diverse experiences and a heart for service can culminate in a role where financial acumen and social impact go hand in hand
